We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of former Buffalo Bills cornerback Vontae Davis

Vontae Davis, a former cornerback with the Buffalo Bills, passed suddenly at the age of 35. The two-time All-Pro Davis spent ten years in the NFL with three different teams after being selected in the first round by the Miami Dolphins.

After his football career ended abruptly in Buffalo, Davis discovered a new passion in retirement. In 2019, a year after quitting the NFL, Davis took a position as CEO at a holistic health facility near Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Middle School Rules of Vontae Davis, as narrated by Sean Jensen, was Vontae Davis’ first children’s book published in the same year. It follows Davis’ journey from his Washington, D.C., upbringing to his career as a professional player and beyond.

News reports that an unresponsive Vontae was found in Davis’ Southwest Ranches, Florida home by a house help have shocked the NFL community greatly. Davis was two months away from turning 36 when police responded to the radioed medical emergency. By the time they reached the site, Davis had already passed away.

Vernon Davis, the former NFL tight end, had a younger sibling named Vontae. He is survived by his brother Vernon, wife Megan Harpe (who passed away in 2015), various family members, and a large number of people who adored him.

From all of us at Buffalo Rumblings, we extend our deepest sympathies, prayers, and thoughts to Vontae Davis’s friends, family, and other loved ones.
