One of the all-time great basketball players and a team without a loss this season will face off in the championship game of the 2024 NCAA women’s basketball tournament.

Sunday afternoon’s national championship match pits undefeated South Carolina against Iowa’s Caitlin Clark. The winner will be crowned.

The 2023–24 season will go down in history. Because of the celebrities making headlines, the popularity of the women’s game has increased. However, all good things must come to an end, and the Cleveland finale on Sunday should be the magnificent crowning achievement of an incredible year.

The Hawkeyes have an opportunity to win the program’s first-ever national championship for Iowa. After losing to LSU in the championship game in 2023, Clark & Co. narrowly missed out, but they’re out for revenge in 2024. Although Clark has amassed an impeccable college resume, her impressive list is incomplete by one thing: a national title.
However, Dawn Staley and the Gamecocks have an opportunity to make history of their own. In the title game on Sunday, South Carolina will be looking to become just the 10th team in women’s college basketball history to finish a season without a loss. The Gamecocks, who took home the trophy in 2022, are favoured to capture their second championship in three seasons under the leadership of Kamilla Cardoso.
