On Sunday, Tyler Reddick gave his manager Michael Jordan a memorable occasion at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama, by winning with 23XI Racing. The legendary Chicago Bulls player paid Reddick’s young kid a return favour.

In the last lap of the Geico 500, Reddick broke through the debris to win his sixth NASCAR Cup Series race.

Jordan was pleased about his team’s triumph. He co-owns 23XI Racing with NASCAR Cup Series driver Denny Hamlin. Jordan was able to watch the team’s first-ever victory in person (watch the video here).

The six-time NBA champion was beaming as he had a precious moment with Reddick’s young son Beau in the victory lane.

Michael Jordan went nuts over Tyler Reddick's win at Talladega

On the last lap, Reddick was in fifth place going into the last turn of the course. While Michael McDowell and Brad Keselowski, the race leaders at the time, fought for position, Redick’s No. 45 Camry remained on the high side.

As the lead group got closer to the finish line, McDowell’s Front Row Motorsports No. 34 Ford Mustang absolutely destroyed his RFK Racing rival. After making contact and slowing down, the two Ford Mustang Dark Horse vehicles opened up an opening for Reddick to race through and win.

With “The Big One” upending the field, Reddick was well positioned to capitalise on the mayhem that was unfolding behind him.

Reddick’s triumph, which was his first of the year, was 23XI Racing’s sixth since the team’s debut in the 2021 Daytona 500. The 28-year-old finished 0.208 seconds in front of second place finisher Kaselowski. Noah Gragson of Stewart-Haas Racing finished third, while McDowell dropped to 31st.
