For the past few days, the New England Patriots have not signed a single free agent between Thursday and Saturday. But they took a different approach on Sunday, bringing in former Minnesota Vikings wideout K.J. Osborn for a one-year deal.

Osborn’s presence should benefit the team and its wide receiver corps in 2024 even though he isn’t a true No. 1 option at wide out. He’s not only another experienced veteran in what will probably be a young room, but also a reliable supporting player who should carve out a role.

The Patriots now have nine wide receivers under contract after Osborn was added to the mix. He is joining JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Reagor, Kayshon Boutte, Kawaan Baker, DeMario Douglas, Tyquan Bourne, and T.J. Luther.
