With Rashee Rice’s evolving legal predicament following a six-vehicle accident in Dallas, Texas over the weekend, the Chiefs are faced with a challenging but relatively familiar issue.

Kansas City must now get ready for every scenario after experiencing similar issues with Tyreek Hill prior to selecting Mecole Hardman in the 2019 NFL Draft. Although Rice allegedly hired legal counsel, Brett Veach must keep a close eye on the situation to make sure the Chiefs’ wide receiver room is prepared for the upcoming season as the team looks to win the Super Bowl for the third time in a row. We should have developments this week.

Though there are plenty of excellent receivers available for the forthcoming draft, it might be prudent to acquire one more seasoned wide receiver beforehand. In lieu of possible backlash over Rashee Rice, the Chiefs should add these three free agents:

The Chiefs Should Target These Three Wide Receivers: 1. Hunter Renfrow
Renfrow, an accomplished veteran with a wealth of experience and excellent route-running skills, is one of the best receivers available right now and would be a perfect match for Kansas City. Although we have already argued that the team should sign Renfrow this summer, the situation with Rice is becoming more urgent.

Police seek Chiefs' Rashee Rice in connection with 'major' crash in Dallas: report | Fox News

The former standout player from Clemson performed poorly in his final two seasons with the Raiders, although I would attribute the low output more to organisational dysfunction than to declining ability. Renfrow caught 103 catches in 2021, gaining 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. At just 28, he presents himself as a cheap way to provide depth to the offensive line.

Particularly if the team uses an early draft pick at wide receiver, Kansas City’s wide receiver room ought to be in much better form than it was the previous season. That being said, the group would still benefit from having a dependable veteran like Renfrow.

In the game’s forgotten third quarter, he has demonstrated a desire to tackle and give it his all, which makes him a valuable asset on special teams as well.

I’d be quite interested in bringing Renfrow to the Chiefs, if they could sign him to a short-term, cheap contract. He was once a division competitor.
