There has been a significant change at running back for the Dallas Cowboys. When Tony Pollard joined the Tennessee Titans in free agency, they lost their top running back. They bring back internal free agent Rico Dowdle in place of the headline free agents at the position.
Dalvin Cook is another veteran that the Cowboys are apparently keeping an eye on, according to Michael Gehlken, so Elliott isn’t the only one. Cook’s output has also been dropping.
Elliott is not alone, though, as Michael Gehlken reports that the Cowboys are also reportedly watching Dalvin Cook, another veteran. Cook has been producing less as well.

Vaughn’s chances of seeing any action again the following season are severely limited if the Cowboys plan to add one more free agent running back and use a draft pick on the position. It would be prudent for the Cowboys to select just one player in the draft and start the season with youngster Dowdle and veteran Vaughn at running back instead of adding an ageing veteran.
