The Miami Hurricanes announced on Wednesday that the Troy Trojans had been added to their 2027 football schedule.
On Saturday, September 11, 2027, Miami will host Troy at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This football game will be the two schools’ second encounter on the field.
On October 6, 2001, the Hurricanes and Trojans played their first football game. The Hurricanes won 38-7 at home, and later that season, they won the national title.
Miami will have two non-conference opponents in 2027 thanks to the addition of Troy. On September 18, the Hurricanes are also set to host the Gamecocks of South Carolina.
Miami’s 2027 ACC schedule includes trips to Duke, Florida State, NC State, Virginia, and hosts California, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Virginia.
With the Hurricanes, Troy’s non-conference schedule for the 2027 campaign is officially complete. One week before travelling to Miami, on September 4, the Trojans are slated to kick off the season at home against the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. Troy will also play host to the Buffalo Bulls on September 25 and the Mississippi State Bulldogs on September 18.
Director of Athletics at Troy Brent Jones predicted, “This is going to be an exciting game for our football programme and our tremendous fans in a destination city.” “We have a special relationship with Miami because it was one of our initial opponents in the first-ever FBS season in 2001. There are several exciting matchups in the 2027 season, which will include seven home games for the first time in a regular season.
