Fans of the Dallas Mavericks heckled Travis Kelce at one point in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. On Sunday, May 26, Kelce was spotted at Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves, along with teammate Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
TMZ claimed that the star tight end did not receive a warm reception at the American Airlines Centre. Mahomes and his spouse, Brittany Mahomes, attended the game. Kelce was displayed on the video board as the game went on, in between the first and second quarter breaks.
Fans, however, jeered the eight-time NFL Pro Bowler and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend. Donning sunglasses, Kelce looked stunned by the jeers, putting both hands on his chest in surprise. The Mavericks’ social media staff even got in on the joke, making fun of Kelce’s relationship with pop star Swift.
Kelce was in Dallas the day before to watch the Dallas Stars, who also play at the American Airlines Centre, and he made an appearance at the NBA playoff game. TV cameras caught Kelce in a suite during Dallas’s game against the Edmonton Oilers during the NHL’s Western Conference Finals. Mahomes, a native of Texas, encouraged Kelce to “get out of my arena” on social media, adding to the lighthearted banter. “Our guy Pat and @taylorswift13’s boyfriend in the house!” the Dallas Mavericks squad captioned a video they had uploaded on X.
The supporters called Mahomes what they would call him in this position, expressing how hilarious the situation was. “Taylor’s boyfriend and Taylor’s boyfriend’s friend,” wrote @VikingSincero. @immamunchYRG, another user, wrote, “‘Taylor Swifts boyfriend’ damn.” Kelce appeared to provide luck to both Dallas sides in spite of the jeers. On Saturday, May 25, the Stars defeated the Timberwolves 3-1 to tie the series at 1, while the Mavericks defeated the Timberwolves 116-107 to give Dallas a commanding 3-0 series lead against Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota club. Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic combined for 66 points to lead the Mavericks in the contest.
In spite of everything, Dallas supporters couldn’t wait to jeers Kelce. Mahomes, though, is well-connected in the area. The 28-year-old played collegiate football at Texas Tech in Lubbock, which is somewhat further west, and was born in Tyler, which is roughly an hour and a half from Dallas. On their own court, the Mavericks seized a decisive lead in the series as both NFL players looked on. According to The U.S. Sun, Doncic and Kelce reconnected after the game and shared an embrace close to the locker area.
Kelce and Mahomes will keep on their offseason bonding and preparation while the Mavericks look to win the NBA Finals at home. They are eager to play in the Super Bowl with the Chiefs for the third time in a row.
